Research interest

  • I am fascinated by life’s big picture – the history of evolution and the origins of biodiversity. Using molecular and computational tools, I study how organisms are related, species form, and genomes evolve. As an example, I investigate how the rapid diversification of Caribbean hamlets unfolded and left its mark in their genomes. Through whole genome sequencing and analysis, I also aim to support the conservation of endangered species, with a current emphasis on rays and sharks.
